In the course of building successful customer franchise businesses for US investment banks and European commercial banks, his endeavors carried him to every major trading center in the world. Jennifer M. Ropiak is a precious metals expert and a senior member of the Underwood FX consulting team. She is a founding director of Trusted Partner Metals LLC, a consulting firm that provides strategic advisory services to clients that wish to enter or expand their footprint in the wholesale or retail precious metals markets. Ms. Ropiak also provides litigation services to economic consultants, multinational and domestic law firms.
Ms. Ropiak began her career at Morgan Stanley where she spent 15 years trading silver, platinum, palladium, and rhodium and serving a diverse set of clients looking to either hedge or gain exposure to precious metals liquidity. Later in her career, she worked at NYSE Liffe US (now ICE Futures US) and was responsible for business and product development for precious metals futures, options on futures and equity index contracts. At Trusted Partner Metals LLC, Ms. Ropiak provided ICE Benchmark Administration strategic advice in their successful effort to become the administrator for the LBMA Gold Price. Ms. Ropiak is a graduate of Cornell University.
Andrew D. Beresin is a practicing securities attorney, and a senior member of the Underwood FX consulting team. He represents Wall Street firms and individuals in compliance, enforcement defense, and regulatory advisory matters, as well as provides expert services on exchange-listed trading.
Mr. Beresin has significant hedge fund and proprietary equities trading experience, including 4 years on the domestic equities desk at SAC Capital Advisors from 1998-2002. Most recently he was a partner in the New York office of Murphy & McGonigle, the only small firm to earn National Tier One recognition from U.S. News – Best Lawyers for its securities practice. Mr. Beresin began his career in the litigation department of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in New York, following his U.S. District Court clerkship. He earned his undergraduate economics degree, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.
Ken Monahan has been working in traded markets since working on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange captured his imagination in high school. He went on to study economics and statistics at the University of Chicago and then worked for O’Connor & Associates where he completed their highly regarded derivatives training program. He was then recruited by NatWest to help launch equity derivatives trading and then along with the rest of his team moved to Deutsche Bank. Mr. Monahan worked at Deutsche Bank for eleven years initially in trading and eventually in a variety of management roles culminating as global head of new business development for equities. He has built businesses across multiple asset classes and geographies in both the OECD and in emerging markets. He worked intensively with exchanges as well as regulators and central banks to improve the quality of financial markets. In 2009, Mr. Monahan left Deutsche Bank and set up Vizier Ltd, an advisory firm to help businesses and regulators navigate the changes to the financial system that the crisis and the subsequent regulations have brought about. In this capacity he has advised fintech companies as well as legacy financial institutions as well as regulators and sovereign governments.
